The Shetland Alcohol and Drug Partnership is a multi agency group including representation from the NHS, SIC, Fire and Rescue Service, Police Scotland & the charitable sector that works towards reducing the harmful impact of alcohol and drugs in Shetland.

Harm Reduction
Harm Reduction focuses on reducing the harm people do to themselves or others through their drug use. Ways of reducing harm includes –
- Providing clean and sterile equipment for people who inject drugs and give safer injecting advice
- Recognising the signs of an overdose
- Take-Home Naloxone. This is an opioid overdose reversal medication. Naloxone is available to anyone who may be supporting someone at risk of, or likely to witness, an opioid-related overdose
- Sexual & Reproductive Health
- Wound care
- Providing information on alcohol & drug facts
