SMRS (Substance Use Recovery Service)
The Substance Use Recovery Service (SMRS) operates within the Mental Health Department. For alcohol and drug addiction problems you can either self refer directly to the local specialist team or contact your GP. An assessment will then be made. Crisis services are also available. Lived & Living Experience Recovery Network (LLERN)
LLERN are a group of volunteers with Lived and Living Experience of alcohol and/or other drugs. They meet every Tuesday from 12pm to 2pm at the Shetland Recovery Hub & Community Network, Pitt Lane, Lerwick, ZE1 0DW.

Food for the Way are a Methodist Church project in Shetland showing God’s love with food, friendship, gardening and more. They are based at Prince Alfred Street, Lerwick, ZE1 0EJ.

Alcoholics Anonymous
Alcoholics Anonymous is a self help group in Shetland. It’s 12 Step Programme involves getting sober with the help of regular support groups. They meet weekly at Islesburgh Community Centre from 7pm to 8pm.
